Gumutindo Coffee Cooperative Enterprise

Gumutindo is an organisation of smallholder coffee farmers who produce washed arabica coffee for the specialty coffee market. We live and work on the misty ridges and in the lush upland valleys of Mount Elgon, an extinct volcano on the eastern border of Uganda.

Gumutindo Coffee Cooperative now in its tenth business year is making social and economic interventions on a fertile but congested Mt Elgon in Eastern Uganda.I am proud to be the Chair of a truly growing 7000 member strong cooperative in which its members believe.

Our strategic objective is to reach out to more men , women and youth , mobilize them to grow coffee not as an alternative but a business from which to generate income for accessing good housing, health, education, clean gravity water and energy while conserving nature. This we shall achieve through rallying them to produce more of the most consistent mouthwatering coffee for our growing fair trade markets.
